Julius Dautartas

Julius Dautartas was born on May 30, 1953. In 1977, he graduated from Lithuanian State Conservatoire, and in 1983, from Lunacharsky State Institute for Theatre Arts in Moscow. From 1977 to 1978, he acted at the Šiauliai Drama Theatre. In 1983-1988 and from 1991, Julius Dautartas was employed as a director at the Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre (known as the Panevėžys Drama Theatre until 1995) and at the Kaunas State Drama Theatre from 1988 to 1991. In 1991, he established the theatre Menas in Panevėžys and worked as its art director as well as stage director until 2004. In 2000-2004, Julius Dautartas was a member of the Panevėžys City Municipality. The artist was a member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania in 2004-2012. In 2004-2008, Dautartas was appointed deputy chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture. He was also the chairperson of the Public Culture Committee for the Interparliamentary Assembly of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine in 2008-2012. 2004 A Month in the Country (Russian: Месяц в деревне) by Ivan Turgenev (Lithuanian National Drama Theatre)

2016 The God of Rain (Lith.: Lietaus dievas) based on the work by Alvydas Šlepikas (Juozas Miltinis Drama Theatre)
