Theatre festival “Sirenos†opens this week with the newest work of the outstanding Belgian artist Jan Fabre, an enfant terrible of the contemporary theatre scene.
On February 7-8, the Arts Printing House organized the readings of four plays by Quebec playwrights that were directed by three Lithuanian directors and a guest from Montreal.
The officials of the city of Vilnius were shocked by the poster created for this performance by set designer, winner of the Golden Stage Cross and National Culture and Art Award JÅ«ratÄ— PaulÄ—kaitÄ—.
"The director has presented the text as the unity of details, has put it in a certain perspective, which allowed him to discover other unexpected stage solutions", said Jean-Pierre Thibaudat, French theatre critic.
We have to acknowledge the fact that the mainstream of the performing arts in our region is locked in traditional theatre spaces and genres. That is why we want to break through and focus on the interventions of theatre into other spaces.
The main idea of the festival “PLArTFORMA†is to combine the forms of visual and performing arts as well as the artists from Lithuania and foreign countries in one cultural platform.
