On March 22, the website www.galdrama.lt presenting the creation of Gabrielė Labanauskaitė was introduced to the public.
Gabrielė Labanauskaitė is a playwright, poetess, prose writer, literary critic, and translator. She was born in 1980, and studied Lithuanian and Finnish languages at Klaipėda University. In 2002, Labanauskaitė spent five months studying dramaturgy and poetry at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, Parma University (Italy). Also, she went to Greece for internship. Currently, the creations of Labanauskaitė can be more frequently seen and heard in theatres or festivals of experimental poetry and multimedia. Together with Gintaras Varnas she wrote scenes for the performance A Hail of Stars (Lith. Žvaigždžių kruša), the texts for the dance performance Moon does not Care about Barking Dogs (Lith. Mėnulis nepaiso lojančių šunų) by choreographer Aira Naginevičiūtė, and has also experimented with Benas Šarka in his Gliukų Theatre. The plays by Gabrielė Labanauskaitė have already been staged in England, Sweden, and Finland. The website will contain the plays written in English and Lithuanian as well as certain translations into Russian, Finnish, and Swedish languages.
